As cinco fábricas construídas pela Enercon no concelho de Viana do Castelo desde 2007 empregam cerca de 1.400 trabalhadores, pelo que aquela multinacional é já o maior empregador privado do Alto Minho. 

The five plants built by Enercon in the municipality of Viana do Castelo since 2007 employ around 1,400 workers, meaning this multinational is now the biggest private employer in the Alto Minho region. 

The German group has already installed over a thousand of its own aerogenerators in Portugal, representing a total of 2,500 megaWatts (MW). Enercon therefore represents over half the total installed capacity in the country (4,500 MW) in terms of wind power.

The installation of the ventilation and smoke extraction system, fire network, compressed air network, electrical power network, access management and security system, and the structured cabling system for the different production warehouses and offices of the rotor blade plant in Viana do Castelo was conducted by RACE.
