  • Description

Inter Continental is a brand of luxury hotels founded by Pan American World Airways under Juan Trippe, and now belongs to the Inter Continental Hotels Group. The chain runs over 200 hotels and resorts in around 75 countries.

Palácio das Cardosas was a 19th century palace, the former Loios or Santo Eloi Convent, and is now home to a hotel from the Inter Continental chain.

Purchased by the company Solitaire Hotels, which invested around 30 million euros in the acquisition, remodeling and equipping of the palace, it is managed by the IHG-Inter Continental Hotels Group.

The block on which the hotel lies measures 11,000 m².

The hotel, of "neoclassical design", has 105 rooms (16 of which are ensuite), a restaurant, the renovated Café Astória, a bar, a gym and wellness centre and two meeting rooms. The decor was entrusted to the interior designer Alex Kravetz.

The execution of several different undertakings was a real challenge for RACE, whose concern in maintaining certain elements of the historic architecture of the building while ensuring the highest standards of performance marked a new era in HVAC installations in

    the Portuguese hotel sector.
